“Spirituality: Friend or Foe of Religion?”
(view PDF flyer/registration form)
Saturday, September 20, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
The answer to this question is yes! Spirituality both supports the infrastructure of religion and challenges its one-sided shadow. Often, the saints were persecuted by religion and then canonized. This workshop will attempt to engage the contemporary challenge of being spiritual and the struggle to be in relationship with organized religion.
Cost: $60
The Shadow Sides of Spirituality
Saturday, November 22, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Just because something is named “spiritual” does not make it healthy. This workshop will deal with the shadow side of contemporary spiritual movements, which do not lead us to authentic spiritual transformation. This workshop will attempt to engage healthy and unhealthy forms of spiritual movements and look at spiritual materialism, narcissism, and the dangers of charlatans.
Cost: $60
