Is the Mount handicapped accessible?
We are completely accessible to the handicapped. Our new elevator takes guests directly from the driveway to every floor in the building, and designated bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
How are reservations made?
Call us at (845) 384-8000, or send a $25 deposit and a note with your contact information and the name of the program you plan to attend. Send to: Mount St. Alphonsus, PO Box 219, Esopus, NY 12429-0219.
Are refunds possible?
Reservation deposits are not refundable, except when we cancel a program due to weather or lack of registration. The advance deposit is deducted from the total cost of the retreat or program. The remaining balance is due on arrival.
What do the Mounts programs cost?
Prices are listed with the program information on our calendar page. Most weekend retreats cost $145 and most day programs – which include a hot lunch – are $20. Evening sessions are $10. Musical events are free and open to the public.
Can I bring my group to the Mount?
The Mount can accommodate groups of 45 to 136. For smaller groups, we recommend one of the smaller retreat centers located in the Hudson Valley. The Mount is used most often by spiritually-based groups: nonprofit groups in education, health care and other helping professions can also be accommodated.
How far in advance should I book my group?
Most weekends are booked about a year in advance. Weekdays are more generally available. Call the Reservation Office to discuss available dates.
How is payment made for groups?
Contracts including the cost of your event are issued at least six months in advance of the date, and a final bill is presented to be paid before departure. Guests pay the groups organizer, who presents one check to the Mount.
Are credit cards acceptable?
Only the Mounts gift shop takes credit cards. Reservation deposits and final bills may be paid with personal checks, travelers checks, money orders and cash.
Does the Mount provide priests for Confessions and Celebration of Mass?
There are two Redemptorist priests on the Retreat House Staff, and usually with sufficient advance notice, one or the other of them will be happy to be available for your group.
Can I come to part of a retreat?
Weekend or week-long programs are designed around a specific theme and time frame. We prefer that participants plan to attend the entire program to get the full benefit.
